Our journey to becoming People & Planet Positive is only just beginning. But in the last 12 months we've come a long way. In this short video from the IKEA Group about our sustainability initiative People & Planet Positive, Chief Sustainability Officer, Steve Howard, reveals just how far we've come. For example, we have installed well over 100 wind turbines across seven countries; we have more than 550 million solar panels delivering clean energy and we have sold 22 million LED products. We've worked hard to make our resources more sustainable. Our cotton now uses 50% less water and slashes pesticide use, all the while delivering a higher yield. We've added 1.5 million cubic metres of preferred and recycled wood to our existing responsibly managed forests. Through the IKEA Foundation we've supported many projects over the past 12 months, but one of the closest to the IKEA vision is an innovative housing project providing modular, flat-packed homes to refugees in emergency situations. In short, everything we've done in 2013 was designed to create a better everyday life for the many people, wherever they live.
